BUILDING METHOD

The future of homes is now.

By choosing to live at WAW Villages Cabanas, you are choosing to live in the homes of the future. In the future, all homes will be efficient, durable, comfortable and adapted to today's demanding climate changes.

Why wait for tomorrow when you can have today?

The bulding method chosen for the WAW Villages Cabanas is the most efficient and technological available today.

The entire building structure of WAW Villages is a mix of wood-frame and CLT, an innovative construction method that guarantees durability, quality, speed and high energy efficiency.

All the wood is sustainably sourced and certified in accordance with the FSC standard.

Discover the advantages.

What is Cross-Laminated Timber (CLT)?

CLT is an excellent material used for building construction due to its strength and structural performance. The cross-laminated layers of CLT panels provide greater stability and rigidity than traditional timber frames, allowing for the construction of strong and more complex structures.

CLT is also much lighter than common construction materials such as steel and concrete, which makes building structures quicker and easier. The panels are prefabricated outside the perimeter of the site and transported to the construction site, where they are quickly assembled.

What is Wood-frame?

Wood-frame construction is a method typically used for residential buildings, particularly single-family homes and low-rise multi-family buildings.

Wood-frame construction is associated with ease of application and versatility. It is a light and durable material, readily available and easy to work with. It also offers good insulation properties, which can help reduce energy consumption and the costs associated with heating or cooling a home.

STRENGTH

CLT is a very strong and rigid material, which makes it suitable for use in load-bearing structures. It also provides greater robustness and stability than traditional timber frame construction, which makes it possible to build buildings with longer spans and fewer columns.

RESISTANCE
TO FIRE

CLT has excellent fire resistance properties due to the carbonisation that takes place in its surface layer when flames break out. This creates a natural protective layer that delays combustion and the spread of fire, allowing the building to maintain its structural integrity. Wood has a lower thermal conductivity - and therefore resists longer - than steel.

SOUND INSULATION

Wood provides excellent acoustic insulation, reducing noise transmission and creating quiet, pleasant interiors.

Most of the building components are prefabricated off-site, which reduces construction time. This also leads to a higher level of quality, as each panel is manufactured in a meticulously controlled environment.

CONSTRUCTION SPEED

CLT parts are manufactured in the factory with high precision and can be assembled quickly on site, reducing construction time compared to traditional methods.

ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Wood has excellent insulation properties, which helps to reduce energy consumption and other costs associated with heating or cooling homes.

ENVIRONMENTAL

Wood has a smaller carbon footprint than other traditional building materials such as concrete or steel. What's more, using wood in construction helps offset emissions by storing carbon dioxide.
